Matt and Laura Moffat of Piedmont, Oklahoma have only been in the Watusi world for the last two years. They submitted some photos of a portion of their herd not only to brag, but also to exhibit the temperament that can be seen in Watusi. They are raising their two daughters, Reese and Gentry Rose that they are raising right with the cattle and now they are working on number three of their own. Our next generation of Watusi enthusiasts in the making. (Click photos to enlarge)

Tame in Texas
I tried to get a couple of photos of me petting Denali today, she loves to be scratched behind her horns and under her chin. Please ignore my big stomach and bald spot. :)

Editor: This was from 2012, we apparently buried it. Sorry Rodney.
Big Mac McGwire
Tom Ward Steers
All too often we tend to forget that nature usually balances itself out and we have a basic 50/50 breakdown of the sexes. Watusi breeders sometimes seem to forget that one of the most popular reasons that people buy watusi cattle is as a sort of decoration. To this end we should all consider the alternative of steers. Not all males can or should be herdsires, they don’t have to be dinner either. Seeing what people like Tom Ward of Norman, Oklahoma have done with some of their excess males should open our eyes to one of these alternatives.
