More sad news….
A part of this life unfortunately includes our losses. We wish to extend our condolences to Vernon Base in the loss of his mother, Alice in March 2015. Alice was 92 years old at the time of her passing, we should all be so blessed to have our loved ones so long.
Sad News
We wish to express our sorrow for the loss of Dennis Sissom, a longtime member of the WWA from Missouri. We were unaware of his battle with cancer and his passing until recently. Dennis was a popular addition to our Association and will be missed.
RIP Joe Cocker
The World Watusi Association would like to express our condolences to the friends and family of the well known rock and roll artist Joe Cocker. Those of us in our ‘twilight years’ knew Joe from his music and Woodstock from our teens, but more recently we at the WWA knew him and his wife Pam as lifetime members of the World Watusi Association. Joe and Pam owned and operated the Mad Dog Ranch in Crawford, Nebraska. The Mad Dog bloodlines and logo appear in much of the WWA lore. Joe was 70 years old and had been battling cancer for some time. He will be missed.
Health problems
We wanted to keep everyone advised that our group is experiencing some serious health problems. Both Angie Base (wife of our President Vernon) and Pam Jackson (wife of our Vice President, Richard and herself our Association Secretary), are fighting some serious health issues. We want to wish them both well and let them know that they are in all of our thoughts.

Cow skull in Florida
Bill Langley of Highlandville, Missouri displays the skull of Immaculate’s Doll, a Sea Wolf daughter. She’s now on display on Sanibel Island in FL with a plaque promoting the Watusi breed.
Trip to Florida

Recently he took delivery of a shipment of animals from various farms, Heiken’s Ark, Des Moines, Iowa; Matt Moffat, Piedmont, OK; Black Walnut Springs, Highlandville, MO; Barry Retchloff, Rogersville, MO and Liar’s Lake, Sparta, MO. WWA member Joy Rider of Black Walnut Springs farm in Highlandville, Missouri submitted this photo with the following caption: “BWS Holy Cody is a 2011 model (by Sarah Serendipity and TW Booger). This is the little guy I brought to your place at just a few days old that Dianna Rickard used in her petting zoo that season. He’ll be one of my young herd sires for the 2014 breeding season IF we can convince him he’s a watusi.” This great young prospect has already been to five Watusi farms, Black Walnut Springs two times, Fantasy Corral in Woodville, Wisconsin, Matt Moffat of Piedmont, Oklahoma and Liar’s Lake in Sparta, Missouri and now Joy expects him to go to work.
They can be like big dogs
Matt and Laura Moffat of Piedmont, Oklahoma have only been in the Watusi world for the last two years. They submitted some photos of a portion of their herd not only to brag, but also to exhibit the temperament that can be seen in Watusi. They are raising their two daughters, Reese and Gentry Rose that they are raising right with the cattle and now they are working on number three of their own.
